Waterhouse Kids

The heart of Waterhouse Kids is to see kids come to know Jesus and to become passionate followers of Him. To equip kids with the knowledge and tools needed to live out their faith and to POUR out to their peers and family.

Parent Resources

We have put together a few things we think each parent needs to know!

Thank you for trusting us with your child’s spiritual growth. We are honored to serve your family!

    • Partnering with parents to help children become devoted Christ-followers, filled with His Spirit.

    • Encouraging young minds to grow, spread kindness, bring hope, and make our community shine.

    • Safe & Secure Environment: All volunteers are background-checked, trained, and committed to child safety.

    • Engaging Lessons & Activities: Age-appropriate Bible-based teaching with interactive learning experiences.
    • Positive & Nurturing Atmosphere: Our leaders aim to encourage and inspire kids in their faith journey.
    • Check-In: Each child must be checked in at the kiosk and receive a name tag before entering their classroom.
    • Pick-Up: Only authorized individuals with matching security tags may pick up a child. Parents will pick up their kids at the door of their classroom.
    • Lost Tag Procedure: If a tag is lost, the parent must present a photo ID to the Check-in person and be verified in our system.
    • Sick Policy: Children with a fever over 100°F, vomiting, or contagious illness should stay home.
    • Accident Reporting: Minor incidents will be documented and shared at pick-up. Emergencies will be reported immediately.
    • Diapering & Restroom Assistance: Only female volunteers assist with restroom needs for younger children. If you would like to be the only one to change your child's diaper please note this in the medical notes on your child’s profile and keep your phone available during service so we can contact you.
    • Our approach emphasizes guidance, redirection, and positive reinforcement.

    • If behavior becomes disruptive or unsafe, parents may be called.

    • Children who harm others or refuse to follow instructions may need a break from class, as determined by leadership.

    • Fire Evacuation: Children will be led to a designated safe area outside the building. Parents will be able to check out their children only from the designated person in charge and only after everything has been secured.

    • Severe Weather: Children will move to an interior safe zone.
    • Lockdown: In case of a security threat, rooms will be locked, and no entry or exit will be allowed until an all-clear is given.
    • Playground is a Secure Area – During scheduled service hours, including between services, the playground is a restricted area. Only children who are checked in and under the care of church staff may use the playground.

      • Authorized Personnel Only – Only scheduled church staff and approved volunteers may be on the playground during service hours. Parents and unauthorized individuals should not enter the playground area.

    • Oasis Room: A sensory-friendly space for children who need a quieter environment. Parents are encouraged to complete a Student Guide Form for special accommodations.
  • We value open communication! If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to a Kids Ministry leader by email at kids@waterhousechurch.com or call or text us at 817-803-3131.
