Job Summary
The Kids Pastor at Waterhouse Church will oversee all aspects of the Kids’ Ministries (ages 0-12), providing strategic leadership, spiritual guidance, and a Christ-centered environment for children and families. This role involves equipping parents and volunteers, managing ministry resources, and fostering a culture where every child can grow in faith. The Kids Pastor will motivate children to connect with the body of Christ and engage in His mission while working closely with church leadership to fulfill the vision of Waterhouse Church.

Key Responsibilities
Ministry Leadership and Oversight
Oversee all aspects of Kids’ Ministries (ages 0-12), developing a team of equipped volunteers to disciple children effectively.
Research and implement age-appropriate, theologically sound curriculum that aligns with the church’s mission and vision.
Develop an engaging Sunday morning and Monday night program that reaches each child at their level.
Sunday Morning Service Management
Ensure a seamless check-in process and address any issues that arise before and after services.
Ensure each person is serving where they are scheduled to serve.
Meet and greet parents as they arrive with their children.
Rotate serving in Nursery, Kids’ Church, and Pre-K as needed, balancing service participation and ministry involvement.
Volunteer Recruitment, Training, and Care
Recruit, train, and develop high-quality volunteers to serve in the ministry.
Inspire and guide volunteers to build a vibrant children’s ministry.
Provide ongoing training in classroom management and ministry best practices.
Encourage and care for volunteers by checking in on their spiritual health and recognizing their contributions.
Parental Engagement and Support:
Act as the primary communicator and partner for parents, equipping them to disciple their children and fostering healthy community connections.
Equip and encourage parents to take an active role in the spiritual formation of their children.
Develop healthy community among parents, providing resources and opportunities for discipleship.
Act as the point person for communication with parents, fostering strong partnerships with families.
Program Development and Events
Develop engaging programs for Sunday and midweek services that meet children at their level and foster spiritual growth.
Plan and execute events such as Kids Camps, VBS, retreats, seasonal celebrations, outreach initiatives, and volunteer team appreciation events.
Serve as a camp and retreat counselor, modeling leadership and spiritual guidance for children and volunteers.
Budget and Administration
Develop and oversee the Kids’ Ministry budget, ensuring resources are used effectively and responsibly.
Schedule and coordinate paid childcare staff for special events, monthly programs, and other as needed events. This will be done through Connecteam.
Track growth trends to anticipate and plan for ministry expansion.
Maintain compliance with safety standards and church policies.
Pastoral Duties and Vision Alignment
Share in pastoral responsibilities, including baptism, communion, hospital visitation, and general pastoral care.
Maintain consistent communication with church leadership to ensure alignment with Waterhouse Church’s vision.
Represent the Kids’ Ministry in internal and external communications, reflecting the values and mission of Waterhouse Church.
Qualifications and Competencies
Belief Alignment: Has a personal relationship with Jesus and generally agrees with the doctrines of the Assemblies of God.
Spiritual Leadership: A deep love for Jesus and a passion for sharing the Gospel with children in engaging and meaningful ways.
Leadership Experience: Proven ability to manage volunteers, and ministry programs.
Passion for Families: A heart for children and their parents, with a focus on fostering discipleship within families.
Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to connect with children, parents, and ministry teams.
Curriculum Development: Creativity and theological grounding in designing and selecting effective children’s ministry curricula.
Event Management: Experience organizing and executing programs and events such as camps, retreats, and outreach initiatives.
Interpersonal Skills: Superior communication and relationship-building abilities with parents, children, staff, and church leadership.
Project Management: Experience in organizing and executing programs, events, and projects with attention to detail.
Vision Implementation: Ability to articulate and execute the vision of Waterhouse Church while planning for ministry growth.
Administrative Strength: Strong budgeting, organizational, and time management skills with attention to detail.
Problem-Solving: A positive, solution-oriented approach to addressing challenges and meeting goals.
